Bishop Elroy Been has been an ordained minister for over twenty years. He received his initial theological training form New Testament Bible Institute graduating with a Diploma in Theology. As a result of further studies, he received Bachelor of Theology Degrees from Jameson Christian College and Orlando Bible College , and a Master of Theology Degree from Orlando Bible College . In 2005, Bishop Benn received a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Jameson Christian College . He was ordained as Pastor in 1988, elevated to an Overseer in 2000, Bishop-designate in 2004, and consecrated as Bishop 2005. He has also received awards and recognitions from various religious and social organizations. Bishop Benn has been married for over twenty-eight years to his wife Delores, and together they have produced three wonderful children: Isha, Kaola and Mark.
Bishop Elroy Benn pursued academic training in Trinidad, W.I. where he obtained his General Certificate of Education, and then at Essex County College, New Jersey, where he received his Degree in Social Science. He also has completed various courses in areas that deal with mental illness and chemical addiction.
Bishop Elroy Benn officiates as Pastor and Spiritual Leader of Deliverance Christian Fellowship Church. He serves as First Assistant to Bishop James H. Everett Jr., presiding Prelate of Deliverance Jesus Is Coming Association of Churches. He is also a Chaplin and member of The United Chaplin International Outreach Inc. Bishop Benn has conducted lectures, workshops and crusades in the United States , Canada , Kenya and the Caribbean impacting lives for the cause of Christ. In addition, he provides spiritual covering to churches in New Jersey , North Carolina, Canada and Triniday W.I. His love for God and humanity propels him to give unselfish, dedicated and sacrificial service to his fellowmen. The scripture verse that motivates and challenges his life is John 4:34 “My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me and to finish His work.”
As Pastor of Deliverance Christian Fellowship Church and President of Deliverance Holistic Care Program, a Community Development Corporation that seeks to enhance the quality of life within the community, Bishop Benn continues to seek the favor and anointing of the Holy Spirit for the birthing of souls into God's Kingdom, the empowering of believers to fulfill their God ordained purpose and destiny, the equipping of families to establish strong cohesive relationships, and the motivating of individuals to maximize the full potential for which they were created. Indeed he is an anointed man of God and true ambassador for Jesus Christ.
